We just received a new bra from Simone Perele today, and it got me thinking... bras do not receive the attention and respect they deserve. I've been fitting women in bras for over 24 years, and I'm here to tell you that a good fitting bra can change your life. Well, ok maybe I'm overstating for effect, but seriously the right bra can take your outfit from ok to "hey... I love your outfit!" When supported properly, the effect of wearing a good bra can make you look thinner, younger... richer? Probably not richer, but a girl can dream... right? The French designed bras that we fit women in on a daily basis have the effect of defining the torso from the bust creating a more defined and yes, slimming effect. It really is the foundation of your wardrobe.
My advise to you... find a boutique near you that specializes in fitting bras. Invest in your foundations... you wear them everyday, so do not skimp and buy a defective one from the Rack. The bras you find at the discount stores have been unloaded by the manufactures because they didn't sell due to improper fit, scratchy lace, ugly colors... you name it. You are worth it, and so is your wardrobe.
Oh and by the way, if you wear your favorite bra every day, don't expect it to last two years. You need to rotate your bras, hand wash them and never dry them. Ideally you should have 5-7 bras that you love equally so one doesn't always take it for the team. Colors... well that is up to you, but in my opinion I'd have several nude and a couple of black bras. I love a beautiful colored lace bra personally. Every season I add a new color to my wardrobe. This spring it was the Manille all lace demi in two tone blue from Simone Perele that was added to my brood.
I could write about the proper fit, but I'd rather you visit an expert. You'll thank me when you do!
