Today’s blog is about shopping small first. The idea is to support small businesses before jumping onto Amazon. Are you game? If so… here comes Pink Friday developed and promoted by small business cheerleader, the Boutique Hub, to give small business a leg up before Black Friday… and don’t forget (American Express’s) SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY.. also amazing for small businesses. :) Pink Friday is a week before Black Friday so many small businesses will be participating with discounts, events, give aways and more. It’s your opportunity to Shop Small and Save while supporting locally owned businesses that support your community. I feel like what I just wrote might be perceived as BLAH…BLAH…BLAH. Understandably so! WHY SHOULD YOU CARE??? Here we go…

1. Small businesses are major employers in your local communities.

2. Small businesses support our schools by donating goods and gift certificates to Home School Club fundraisers and more.

3. When you shop at a local small business, more of your money stays in the community. Local businesses tend to use local suppliers and services keeping wealth circulating within the community.

4. Small business collect local sales tax to improve the community which contribute to funding schools, roads, and other essential community infrastructure.

5. So with that information, why not support a small business versus shopping on Amazon or going to Nordstrom… especially if you have a friend, relative, daughter, or son trying to launch or sustain a business. For the most part you’re going to be getting a much better experience shopping with a small business. Little add on’s like gift wrapping, serving bubbles or hot chocolate while you shop… those things set small businesses apart from the mall and online stores. Most small businesses have websites too, and offer easy returns or exchanges. However, even with all of this information, you would rather support Jeff because he seems like a really great guy…spend your money where you think is best.. no one will judge you unless you come into a small boutique and tell them you bought it online… TRUE STORY (Bad manners = DON’T DO IT or at least don’t tell the store owner please.)

We’re going to pull out the stops! Join us on Pink Friday, November 22nd… we’ll be serving Rose all Day, delicious Mocktails, enjoy exclusive discounts, raffle prizes, gifts with purchase and much, much more!!

We appreciate our supporters and customers for shopping with us FIRST for the past thirty years! We strive to make your experience amazing. It’s not just about buying a product. It’s about service, being unique, quality and more.

xoxo,

Sue

The Lid Is Off The Candy Jar… Los Gatos is in Jeopardy.

Our California state government has left the lid off of the candy jar for all developers to come and develop with very little to no oversight. Because of the delays in approving the housing element, developers have been using the state law known as the “Builder’s Remedy” which allows them to bypass many local zoning rules and expedite housing projects.
